In a year like no other, V\u00e4linge retained impressive growth and innovation momentum in 2020 \u2014 expanding their IP portfolio, licensee numbers, and launching their own flooring brand, V\u00e4linge flooring<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

Although nothing about 2020 could be considered normal, it was very much business-as-usual for us when it came to innovation and R&D. With over 500 new patents granted in 2020, V\u00e4linge’s patent portfolio now exceeds 3500 patents distributed across new materials, locking technologies for flooring, walls and furniture, and surface technologies.<\/p>\n

2020 also saw V\u00e4linge growing its licensee family, with over 30 new partners joining forces with the company during the year. V\u00e4linge licensees now number more than 260, with each one benefitting from the Viken-based innovator’s industry-leading support and technical services.<\/p>\n

In an exciting development, V\u00e4linge announced the launch of its own flooring products under the brand name \u2018V\u00e4linge Flooring\u2019 during Q3 \u2014 made on-site at their HQ in Sweden using their state-of-the-art, high-volume production facility.<\/p>\n

The first products are a collection of real wood floors that combine V\u00e4linge\u2019s unique patented technologies \u2014 Woodura\u00ae, 5G\u00ae Dry\u2122 waterproof fold-down system, and 5G\u00ae Climb\u2122. The launch creates a whole new category of floors called \u2018Hardened Wood Flooring\u2019 \u2014 offering the unmistakable feel and luxury of a real wood floor with next-level durability and waterproofness. The rollout initially focused on the US market, with further markets promised in 2021.<\/p>\n
