DOMOTEX 2014 \u2013 the world\u2019s flagship fair for carpets and floor coverings \u2013 came to a highly successful conclusion on Tuesday, January 14, having attracted a total of approximately 45,000 visitors from more than 80 nations. \u201c<\/span>DOMOTEX 2014 has delivered an impressive performance thanks to its uniquely international appeal, high attendance, the well-received \u2018Innovations@DOMOTEX\u2019 concept, plus a considerably more buoyant mood in the industry<\/i>\u201d stated Dr. Jochen K\u00f6ckler as the Managing Board at Deutsche Messe responsible for DOMOTEX, who added: \u201c<\/span>Staging DOMOTEX as a key business platform and idea-giver at the outset of the year makes it an extremely attractive event for carpet and floor covering buyers and decision-makers from around the globe<\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

1,350 companies from 57 different nations showcased their latest products and collections at the Hannover Exhibition Center, with the industry making a strong showing in terms of quality and innovativeness. The mood in the exhibition halls made it clear that the mood in the industry had taken a considerable turn for the better, with exhibitors speaking of greatly improved business prospects and an anticipated upturn in sales.<\/p>\n

International Fair\u2019s Attractive Publication ORSIAD<\/b><\/p>\n

As ORSIAD we are proud to be a part of this important industrial event. Located at the 9th<\/sup> Hall, booth A24, ORSIAD presented its impressive content which delivers news of the industry from all over the world. Distributed for free during DOMOTEX 2014, ORSIAD was appreciated by everyone including the industry members who have met our newspaper for the first time. While becoming an attractive publication of international fairs ORSIAD, once again proved that it\u2019s more than a bilingual journal (Turkish & English) by creating new business opportunities and bridges for communication.<\/p>\n

Exhibitors at DOMOTEX were sought out by potential business partners from every corner of the globe. 57 percent of the show\u2019s visitors came from outside Germany \u2013 approximately two thirds of them from other European countries, plus around 20 percent from Asia and about 10 percent from the Americas. The biggest visitor nations included the United Kingdom, Turkey, the Netherlands, the United States and Italy. In terms of the caliber of its visiting professionals, DOMOTEX delivered right on target, with over 70 percent indicating that they play a major role in their companies\u2019 purchasing decisions. The main visitor categories at DOMOTEX consisted of wholesale and retail buyers \u2013 at 25 and 34 percent, respectively. Purchasers from home furnishing and furniture retailers as well as architects were also well represented. Attendance by members of the skilled trades was clearly on the rise, reaching 25 percent of the total.<\/p>\n

The second edition of the Wood Flooring Summit (Hall 9) was a major success, serving as a networking hub for the international parquet and laminate flooring sector.<\/p>\n
