Unilin Technologies, the intellectual property division of Unilin, has been officially granted
\nthe European patent EP 4114629 for its groundbreaking Osiris recycling technology. This
\ninnovation enables the recovery of wood fibers from waste fiberboards, reinforcing
\nUnilin\u2019s commitment to sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n

\ncircular wood fiber usage,\u201d says Louis Van Roy, Business Development Director at Unilin
\nTechnologies. \u201cBy transforming waste into valuable raw materials, we are paving the way
\nfor a more sustainable fiberboard and laminate flooring industry.\u201d<\/p>\n
Osiris is the first industrialized technology that allows waste fiberboards to be recycled at
\na large scale. In the past, the composite nature of fiberboards made them unsuitable for
\nrecycling, resulting in widespread disposal through landfills or incineration. Osiris
\novercomes these challenges by enabling the separation and reuse of waste fibers,
\nintegrating them with virgin wood to produce new boards.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis technology is not just about sustainability\u2014it also makes economic sense,\u201d adds
\nLouis. \u201cBy reducing reliance on virgin wood fibers, Osiris helps lower production costs
\nwhile promoting a more responsible use of resources. This adds an important cost saving
\nangle to the technology as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
Osiris is exclusively available for licensing through Unilin in collaboration with their
\npartner Dieffenbacher, who provides the necessary machinery and equipment
\nintegration. The Osiris technology will be showcased by Unilin\u2019s Panels division at
\nInterzum in Cologne \u2013 Hall 1.2 Booth A010 \u2013 and by Dieffenbacher at Ligna in Hannover \u2013
