The chemical industry, on the other hand, exported 2.5 billion dollars in September, an increase of more than 14 percent compared to last year. The 9-month exports of the sector exceeded 24 billion dollars.

Evaluating the export figures of the chemical industry in September, Adil Pelister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Chemicals and Products Exporters’ Association (IKMIB), said, “In September, our country’s total exports increased by 3 percent to 22.6 billion dollars and the highest September export record was reached to date. Our chemical industry, on the other hand, exported chemicals and products worth 2.5 billion dollars, achieving a growth of more than 14 percent compared to the same period last year. This year, our exports in the first 9 months exceeded 24 billion dollars. Thus, there is a growth of 5 percent compared to last year. It is important that our monthly export increases continue steadily in the last remaining months of the year. We continue to work at an intense pace to support our exporters. The sectoral trade delegations and fair participations we organize as IKMIB will contribute to the increase in our exports. In addition, we support every step to be taken for our exporters who have financing problems. In the fight against inflation, the upward movement of exchange rates, albeit slightly, can give our exporters a breather. As always, we will continue to work with all our strength to increase our exports.”

In September, the most exports of “plastics and products” were realized

In September, plastics and their products ranked first in chemical exports with 798 million 882 thousand dollars in the chemical substances and products product groups.Exports of mineral fuels and products ranked second with exports of 400 million 449 thousand dollars , while exports of inorganic chemicals ranked third with 239 million 279 thousand dollars.
