Fire and Fire-Retardant Timber Structures for Living in Sustainable Cities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bah\u00e7e\u015fehir University Timber Building Construction and Research Center continue to serve as a central hub within the timber construction sector\u2014bringing together manufacturers, designers, inspectors, practitioners, and the young architects and engineers who are an essential part of our future. The Center remains a vibrant platform for meeting, learning, and sharing knowledge.<\/p>\n

In the Fall of 2025, the Center will host a series of seminars that bring together all stakeholders in the timber construction industry. As part of this series, the seminar titled \u201cFire and Fire-Retardant Timber Structures for Living in Sustainable Cities\u201d<\/strong> will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2025<\/strong>, from 09:30 to 17:00<\/strong>, at the BAU South Campus, Faz\u0131l Say Hall<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The seminar aims to raise awareness and deepen understanding of designing and building with timber as a sustainable construction material. Today, sustainability and the development of building materials are among the most important priorities of the construction industry. Timber, as a renewable and versatile material, plays a crucial role in addressing these global challenges.<\/p>\n

One of the key focuses of the seminar will be timber structures, innovation, and fire safety<\/strong>. The discussions will cover design strategies for fire resistance<\/strong>, the use of fire-retardant materials<\/strong>, and the development and application of bio-based fire-retardant solutions<\/strong>. These innovations are essential for ensuring that timber buildings meet modern safety standards while maintaining environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n

Organized by the BAU Timber Building Constrcution and Research Center<\/strong>, in collaboration with the BAU Faculty of Architecture and Design<\/strong> and Nordtreat<\/strong>, a Finland-based company, this seminar invites you to rediscover timber as a modern construction material<\/strong>, and to explore innovative design approaches, fire-safe practices, and sustainable building solutions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
