Prices for harvesting assignments declined for both sawlogs and pulpwood compared with the fourth quarter of 2025, while delivery timber showed a mixed trend.<\/p>\n<p>The agency noted that the reported roundwood prices are calculated prices and therefore do not necessarily reflect prevailing market prices during the quarter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sawlog prices fell for pine and spruce<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sawlog prices decreased during the first quarter of 2026 compared with the previous quarter. The average volume-weighted prices for harvesting assignments were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scots pine sawlogs: <strong>975 SEK\/m\u00b3sub<\/strong>, down <strong>4%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Norway spruce sawlogs: <strong>1,158 SEK\/m\u00b3sub<\/strong>, down <strong>6%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Pulpwood prices also moved lower<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pulpwood prices also declined in the first quarter compared with the fourth quarter of 2025. The average volume-weighted prices for harvesting assignments were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coniferous pulpwood: <strong>615 SEK\/m\u00b3sub<\/strong>, down <strong>7%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Broadleaved pulpwood: <strong>599 SEK\/m\u00b3sub<\/strong>, down <strong>9%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Fuelwood prices also weakened during the quarter. The calculated price for fuelwood in harvesting assignments fell to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fuelwood: <strong>472 SEK\/m\u00b3sub<\/strong>, down <strong>10%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Delivery timber showed mixed movement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For delivery timber, prices increased by <strong>3%<\/strong> for sawlogs during the first quarter of 2026 across the country. Pulpwood delivery timber prices, however, declined by <strong>3%<\/strong> over the same period.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Price definitions and methodology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Swedish Forest Agency stated that <strong>m\u00b3sub<\/strong> refers to solid cubic meters without bark. The reported prices are average values based on volume-weighted roundwood quantities and are presented in current prices, without adjustment for inflation.<\/p>\n<p>The calculated price represents the amount received by the forest owner after harvesting, referring to the roadside price. Various additions and deductions are included, but transport to industry, harvesting costs and future regeneration costs are not deducted. The price is calculated after measurement at industry, based on data reported by companies purchasing roundwood from forest owners.<\/p>\n<p>The agency also noted that regional comparisons should be made carefully, as local conditions may influence price levels.<\/p>\n<p>A harvesting assignment refers to a delivery form where harvesting is carried out by, or on behalf of, the roundwood buyer.
