Company improves board quality with new DIEFFENBACHER sifter technology<\/strong><\/p>\n

After less than three months of installation and commissioning, De Sutter Fr\u00e8res, based in Biville-la-Rivi\u00e8re, France, has signed the acceptance of a new DIEFFENBACHER EVOsifter P, including a new zigzag sifter, at its plant in Normandy, where it manufactures boards from flax fibers. De Sutter Fr\u00e8res\u2019s new sifting technology improves a production process that suffered from an excessive proportion of impurities\u2014stones, seeds and minerals\u2014leading to increased saw wear and, in the case of oil-containing seeds, stains on the panels after coating.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the design phase, DIEFFENBACHER carefully considered the characteristics of our raw flax material,\u201d says De Sutter Fr\u00e8res Managing Director Albane De Sutter. During tests at its Technical Center at the company\u2019s headquarters in Eppingen, DIEFFENBACHER impressed De Sutter Fr\u00e8res with the sifting quality of the new EVOsifter P and subsequently presented a multi-stage concept that met the customer\u2019s production requirements and efficiently used the available installation space.<\/p>\n

DIEFFENBACHER\u2019s new EVOsifter P is primarily used in the particleboard and recycling industries to separate materials into three fractions (acceptable material, coarse material and foreign material). The sifter\u2019s geometrically optimized zigzag-shaped internals create numerous sifting stages. This design improves separation accuracy regardless of the density, thickness and sinking speed of the input material, reliably removes contaminants, and ultimately improves board quality with minimal loss of acceptable material. The EVOsifter P\u2019s automatic cleaning unit also reduces the risk of screen deck blockages, thereby minimizing the need for manual cleaning and improving overall sifting efficiency and reliability.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks to the cooperation between DIEFFENBACHER and our project team, the installation and commissioning phase for the EVOsifter P was very well executed,\u201d says De Sutter. \u201cThe results have met our expectations. Retrofitting the EVOsifter P was the right project for us at the right time.
