On April 20-21, approximately 50 representatives from the European flooring industry gathered at V\u00e4linge\u2019s R&D center in Viken Sweden to take part in the Multilayer Modular Flooring Association\u2019s (MMFA) annual meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a true honor for V\u00e4linge to host such an important industry event and also a great opportunity to meet and share ideas with representatives from companies in the flooring industry from all over Europe\u201d, said V\u00e4linge CEO Niclas H\u00e5kansson.<\/p>\n

The first day started with a focus on technical issues such as test procedures, cleaning and maintenance as well as floor installations and ended with a guided tour in V\u00e4linge\u2019s R&D center. The second day contained a presentation of industry sales statistics followed by two expert lectures; \u201dThe European building market towards 2017\u201d and \u201dNew flooring solutions\u201d, by Bj\u00f8rn-Erik \u00d8ye from Prognesesenteret AS (Norway) and V\u00e4linge founder Darko Pervan respectively.<\/p>\n

In his lecture, Darko Pervan presented a new solution to further improve V\u00e4linge’s wood powder technology by combining digital technology with water resistant core materials. When it comes to new alternative product constructions, moisture resistant cores with digitally decorated powder-based top surfaces with improved properties is the main focus of the V\u00e4linge Group development activities, said Darko Pervan.<\/p>\n

\nWhen asked to summarize the event, MMFA Chairman Matthias Windm\u00f6ller expressed his satisfaction: \u201cWe really appreciated the excellent meeting possibilities in Viken. It was really interesting for our members to see such an innovative company as V\u00e4linge and to hear Mr Pervan share his thoughts and new ideas on flooring.\u201d<\/p>\n

MMFA represents the leading producers of flooring in Europe and their suppliers. The Association was established in late October 2012 in Munich and focus on, among other things, research and development and introduction of standards.
