Akçalar was founded by Mr. Mehmet Akça, in 1963 in Balikesir. In 1969, the first sawmill started operations. In 1989, a second sawmill was opened. Until 2000, the company supplied softwoods and hardwoods to the local market, and in 2000, a new mill was opened to produce edge glued panels.
The company currently operates in 25000 sqm open space, with 6000 m2 closed factory space.
The company exports 95% of its production to mainly European markets.
The Company is owned by Akca family and has an important market share on edge glued panels.
