The 2026 Mimar Sinan Grand Award of the Chamber of Architects was presented to Semra Uygur and Özcan Uygur for their long-standing contributions to the field of public architecture.
The Mimar Sinan Grand Award, presented every two years by the Chamber of Architects of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB), was awarded in 2026 to architects Semra Uygur and Özcan Uygur.
The ceremony, held within the scope of the National Architecture Exhibition and Awards, took place on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Zübeyde Hanım Social Facility in Ankara. The Uygur couple received the award from Chamber of Architects President Zeynep Erez.

In its evaluation, the Chamber of Architects stated that Semra and Özcan Uygur were deemed worthy of the award for their contemporary architectural production, their design approach focused on public buildings, and their contributions to professional practice over many years.
It was noted that the Uygur couple’s work, particularly in public, cultural, and educational buildings, reflects an approach that brings together functionality, environmental sensitivity, and spatial quality.
