Having served for approximately 30 years at the General Directorate of Forestry and nearly 20 years in the private sector, Tevfik Dedebaş continues to bring his experience from both public administration and industry to the sector through his work within YOMSAD and TOBB.

Tevfik Dedebaş graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry in 1975 and began his professional career in forestry. During approximately 30 years at various levels of the General Directorate of Forestry, Dedebaş gained extensive experience in forestry practices, forest management and public-sector administration of the industry.

In the final stage of his long career at OGM, Dedebaş served as Bursa Regional Director of Forestry before retiring from public service in 2005. Rather than ending his professional career, he moved into the private sector and joined Kastamonu Entegre in the same year. His nearly 20 years with the company gave him the opportunity to directly observe both sides of the relationship between forestry and industry.

By combining his public-sector experience in the management and utilization of forest resources with the needs of the wood-based panel industry in the private sector, Dedebaş developed a broad perspective extending from raw material supply to industrial expectations.

Today, Tevfik Dedebaş continues his active professional life as an industry consultant and also serves as a Member of the Board of YOMSAD. In addition, as a Member of the TOBB Forest Products Council, he contributes to discussions on the sector’s challenges, needs and future expectations.

With nearly half a century of professional experience, Dedebaş stands out as one of the figures who has directly witnessed different stages of the transformation of Turkish forestry, from public administration to industrialization.
