Dr. Selçuk Akbaş is a production manager with extensive academic and industrial experience in plastics and composite materials. He graduated in Forest Industry Engineering from Karadeniz Technical University, completed his master’s degree in composite materials, and earned his Ph.D. specializing in Wood Plastic Composites (WPC).
Throughout his career, Dr. Akbaş has specialized in PVC, ABS, PE, PP, PET, WPC, SPC, compounding, extrusion, and plastic recycling technologies. He has played pivotal roles in establishing and managing production facilities for WPC doors/decking, PE pipes, and plastic recycling plants across Turkey and Algeria. Currently serving as the Production Manager at Portakal Plastik Edgebands Factory, he manages PVC and ABS edgeband manufacturing, process optimization, quality control, productivity, and new product development operations.

Academic & R&D Background
Dr. Akbaş has actively participated in R&D projects supported by TÜBİTAK, KOSGEB, BAP, Techno-Entrepreneurship programs, and the EU. He has published and presented numerous national and international academic papers on WPC, recycled plastics, and advanced composite materials.
