SICAM 2026: The Value of Meeting

🎧Listen to AI Summary

A climate of confident anticipation is the prevailing feeling: just under six months before the opening of the 17th edition of SICAM – the International Exhibition of Components, Accessories and Semi-finished Products for the Furniture Industry, to be held at Pordenone Fiere from October 20 to 23 – everything is already in place. The exhibitor list has been online for months, exhibition space at Pordenone Fiere is sold out, and registrations, opened just a few days ago, are already showing strong interest from industry professionals. The expectation is therefore to confirm the results of the last edition: just under 700 exhibitors, more than 30 percent from abroad, 20,000 net square meters of exhibition space, and strong attendance from over one hundred countries. These figures reflect the well-established scenario in which SICAM has been operating for several editions now.

Despite a still complex context, the recently concluded Milan Design Week revealed a climate of widespread optimism: the furniture industry came together with energy and a strong desire to look ahead, confirming positive expectations for the future. Not surprisingly, many of the ideas that emerged at the last edition of SICAM could be seen again in the new products presented in Milan. An atmosphere that will accompany the sector towards the next appointment in Pordenone, an opportunity to meet again.

“The sector undoubtedly needs the optimism, opportunities and willingness to connect that have always distinguished SICAM,” commented Carolina Giobbi, Head of Marketing and Communication. “Now more than ever, there is a need for a trade fair that is enjoyable to attend but also highly concrete, where the product always remains at the center; a place dedicated to business, where everything needed for the furniture of tomorrow can be found. We are working to offer exhibitors and visitors what has consistently been requested: to create a place where professionals’ time has real value, because every moment is focused on practicality and results.”

SICAM has always been the focus of careful international promotion, through which it continuously reaffirms its role as a must-attend event and explores new ways to engage operators from markets that are increasingly aligning with European taste and more advanced production methods. This year’s “road map” began in Lyon, France (Eurobois, February 3–6), continued to Bangalore, India (Indiawood, February 26–March 2), Birmingham, UK (KBB, March 1–4), Athens, Greece (Medwood, March 27–30), and Sofia, Bulgaria (Technomebel, March 31–April 3). And the journey continues…

Meetings and initiatives like these create opportunities for new collaborations: one example is the agreement with the Economic Assembly of Uzbekistan, an organization that promotes the country’s economy. Thanks to the protocol signed in recent weeks, a delegation of Uzbek entrepreneurs from the furniture sector will attend SICAM this October, looking for semi-finished products, materials, hardware and finishes to help define a more modern and functional living style.
