ORSIAD Journal is once again attending ZOW International Show for Suppliers to the Furniture and Interior Design Industries, which is organized for the 21st time this year. Taking place at Bad Salzuflen Exhibition Centre in Germany, ZOW 2015’s focus is on individualization of series-produced furniture alongside its much-anticipated trend works programme, curated and organised by Lidewij Edelkoort.
Standard furniture is so old hat – today’s customers want to add their own personal touch through a huge variety of sizes, dimensions, colours, structures, modules, decors, attachments and accessories. Affordable furniture with an individual design is not only all the rage, it is the future of the furniture industry. Yet cost-effective volume production presents manufacturers, sub-suppliers and shop fitters with new challenges – one-off items are produced, the variety of materials used is huge and deadlines are tight. Companies, which manage this creative game of materials and surfaces and combine it with state-of-the-art technology benefit from unique customer proximity and are perfectly placed to hold their ground in the face of international competition. ZOW 2015 is focusing on the individualization of mass-produced furniture showcasing practical solutions throughout the production process.
