DOMOTEX Middle East, which is organized by Deutsche Messe subsidiary Hannover Messe International Istanbul, is getting to host the floor industry professionals and trade visitors for the second time in Istanbul. With its rich program and key players of the industry as exhibitors, Domotex Middle East Expo will be held in Istanbul Fair Center between 7th and 10th of November, 2013.
While the expo is getting ready to host the industry, a press conference was held to give further information about the upcoming events and details of the fair. Hannover-Messe International Istanbul General Manager Alexander KÜHNEL moderated the conference and explained how the fair expanded product range and included everything related with floor industry. During the conference, Hannover-Messe International Istanbul Assistant General Manager Ufuk ALTINTOP and İHİB (Istanbul Carpet Exporters ‘Association) President Ibrahim YILMAZ also took part with their presentations about the fair.
Aimed primarily at trade visitors from Turkey and the Middle East, this year’s fair will host hand-made and machine carpets, rugs and mats, woven floor coverings, flexible floor coverings, laminate, wood, parquet floorings, textile machinery and accessories, fibers, yarns and woven fabrics, artificial turf and sports grounds, floor cleaning and application technologies, natural stone, marble and ceramic floor tiles. In addition, this year’s fair will focus on design products. Hannover Messe International Istanbul General Manager Alexander K Ü HNEL referred Turkey as the world’s 16th and Europe’s 6th largest economy in his speech. While mentioning the high interest in the fair, Kühnel said that there was a 3.7 percent growth in 2013 and 2014 and the carpet industry share of Turkey will be able to reach 5.5 billion dollars in 2023.
Organized by Hannover Messe International and ORSIAD Journal, DOMOTEX Middle East Exhibition will host a very important event: Diamond Ladders Award. With this competition, the most popular products will be presented to the public voting contest on the internet, The product categories include; THE MOST POPULAR PARQUET CANDIDATES, THE MOST POPULAR LAMINATE FLOORING CANDIDATES, THE MOST POPULAR SOLID WOOD FLOORING CANDIDATES, THE MOST POPULAR PARQUET FLOORING CHEMICALS CANDIDATES and THE MOST POPULAR MOPBOARD CANDIDATES. The company that wins the grand prize will be announced with a special ceremony on the second day of the fair.
Another important event of the fair, also organized in cooperation with ORSIAD Journal, is the “FUTURE OF FLOORING FORUM”, also known as ZGF 2013. With this forum the floor industry professional will get a chance to review the outlook of industry. The forum will be focused in the issues of sustainable production, sustainable employment, and the future of the sector as main titles of the speakers.
DOMOTEX Middle East is frequented exclusively by industry professionals, such as floor covering wholesalers and retailers, exporters, importers, architects, interior designers, industrial and product designers, real estate developers and floor layers. The fair also attracts purchasing executives and senior managers from public authorities, hospitals, educational institutions, sports centers, manufacturing companies, construction firms, hotels, shopping and business centers and the ship and yacht building industry. In 2012, the fair took place in a total area of 7771 m2, and 222 exhibitors from 28 countries were hosted. 50 percent of the participating companies were from Europe, while 43 percent were from Asia and the Middle East.
