With a sustainability-driven, innovation-focused approach, the company is further strengthening its position in global markets.

As a leading brand in the wood-based panel sector, Kastamonu Entegre climbed roughly 20 places to rank 157th on TurkishTime magazine’s “Top 500 Companies by R&D Expenditure in 2024”. The company’s planned R&D budget for 2025 has been announced as TRY 130 million.

Dr. Hüseyin Güler: We are meeting the expectations of the future

Commenting on the achievement, Global R&D and Innovation Director Dr. Hüseyin Güler said:
“Being listed in the R&D 500 is strong confirmation that we view innovation not merely as a business function but as an inseparable part of our corporate culture.” He added:
“As Kastamonu Entegre, with the innovative products we develop, the international awards we have received and our sustainability-focused projects, we are responding not only to today’s needs but also to the expectations of the future. We see our investments in R&D as the most strategic way to increase our strength in global competition, reinforce our leadership in our sector and carry our country into tomorrow through higher value-added production.”

Innovative work at the R&D center

At its R&D center in Teknopark Istanbul, Kastamonu Entegre develops new technologies that will help shape the sector. While these innovative solutions bolster the company’s competitiveness in global markets, expert teams from the disciplines of chemistry, nanotechnology and environmental engineering develop eco-friendly, sustainable products. This work enriches the company’s innovative product portfolio, consolidates its global standing and sheds light on the future of the industry.

Kastamonu Entegre’s R&D approach is not confined to technical teams; through its Innovation School, which encompasses all employees, it encourages the development of innovative ideas. The program equips employees with training focused on creative thinking and problem solving, and the resulting projects add value to the company’s R&D ecosystem. By taking R&D activities beyond the bounds of a single department and placing them at the heart of corporate culture, the Innovation School helps Kastamonu Entegre strengthen its competitive advantage in global markets and achieve its sustainable growth goals.

Tangible achievements in innovation

2024 was a year in which Kastamonu Entegre stood out with ecological solutions in R&D and innovation. Innovative products such as CoffeeBoard (produced from spent coffee grounds), the bio-based, formaldehyde-free PureBoard, durable surface technologies and Blue Angel-certified Hijyen+ laminate flooring demonstrated the company’s commitment to R&D. Listed among the “Top 50 Most Innovative Companies” in 2024, the company also received an award in the “Social Benefit” category, underscoring its benefit-centered approach to innovation.
