While Türkiye’s chemical sector reached approximately 11 billion dollars in exports in the first four months of 2026, it maintained its position as Türkiye’s second-largest exporting sector with 3.1 billion dollars in exports in April alone and a 14 percent share in total exports. The cosmetics sector, one of the most dynamic areas of the chemical industry, continues to grow with its production capacity, export performance and ability to adapt to changing consumer expectations. As increasing global competition, transformation in export markets, changing consumer expectations and the understanding of sustainable production shape the future of the sector, the question of “What should we produce?” is becoming more critical than ever for manufacturers. In this context, the 4th Future of Cosmetics: What Should We Produce? Summit, organized by the Cosmetic Manufacturers and Researchers Association, KÜAD, will be held on June 18, 2026, at Selectum City Hotel in Ataşehir, İstanbul. The summit, which will bring together leading representatives of the sector, will address developments that will shape the future of the cosmetics market.
Organized by KÜAD and expected to host more than 500 sector professionals, the summit aims to contribute to the development of high value-added cosmetic products centered on human and environmental health, increase the international competitiveness of the sector, strengthen knowledge sharing and support the sustainable development of the cosmetics ecosystem. As part of the program, which will bring together leading representatives of the sector, theater artist Ali Poyrazoğlu will also take the stage as keynote speaker. Poyrazoğlu will share with participants the importance of change, creativity and the ability to foresee the future in the business world through his own experiences.
Data, Trends and Consumer Insights on the Same Stage
The opening speeches of the summit will be delivered by Summit Chair Ü. Belgin Sile and KÜAD Chairman of the Board Fuat Arslan. In the first session, titled “From Data to Value: Trends in the Cosmetics Sector,” Merve Gökmen and Pınar Köseoğlu from NielsenIQ, Hakan Göl from Deloitte Türkiye and Melisa Özlüer from WGSN will share their assessments on the present and future of the sector, from consumer trends to developments in the global beauty market. In the second session, titled “Transformation in Cosmetics: From Production to Consumer Experience,” Şebnem Çakır from Ashland, Ersen Yılmaz from Koroplast and sector representatives will discuss the transformation of the sector through the lens of sustainability, innovation, packaging solutions and consumer experience.
An Artistic and Creative Perspective on the Future of Cosmetics
In one of the summit’s notable sections, the keynote session, theater artist Ali Poyrazoğlu will meet with participants. In the “New Shelves of Cosmetics” session, Engin Çağın from Hepsiburada and Can Karadeniz from ebebek will discuss changing consumer behavior and new-generation sales channels, while the KÜAD Talks Stage will evaluate the impact of technology, digital transformation and the retail ecosystem on the cosmetics sector with the participation of expert names from different sectors.
Today, It Is Not Only What We Produce That Matters, but Also How We Differentiate
Stating that competition in the cosmetics sector is no longer limited only to product development, KÜAD Summit Chair Ü. Belgin Sile said: “The cosmetics sector is going through a multidimensional transformation today. Consumers now look not only at the content of a product, but also at the values of the brand, its sustainability approach, its visibility in the digital world and the experience it offers. Therefore, the critical question for our sector is not only ‘What should we produce?’ but also ‘How should we differentiate and how should we create value?’ With the What Should We Produce? Summit, our aim is to contribute to the international competitiveness of the Turkish cosmetics sector by bringing together ideas, different perspectives and cooperation opportunities that will shape the future of the sector on the same platform.”
