“Investors Are Redirecting Their Focus to Real Estate”
According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, shelter ranks among the most basic human requirements, which means demand for housing can never disappear entirely. Recently, we have observed that investors who had been allocating their savings to deposits and other financial instruments are once again turning to real estate.
The lack of significant volatility in foreign-exchange markets is pushing cash-holding investors to seek alternatives. Those who view staying in deposits over the long term as risky are choosing real estate as a safer haven. Properties purchased for investment purposes not only protect value against inflation but also generate a steady rental income.
The greatest barrier to homeownership, however, remains the difficulty of accessing credit. Lower bank interest rates and more favorable payment terms would both encourage investors and help revive the real-estate sector.
