The Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters’ Association continues to move forward with determination to reach its 2026 targets despite the war between the United States, Israel and Iran.
Ferit Kora, Vice Chairman of the Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters’ Association, stated that they have built an intensive work program to reach their USD 1 billion export target for 2026. He said that Turkish exporters have the ability to adapt to all adverse conditions and that he believes this strength will also come into play in a wartime environment.
Meeting with members of the İzmir Branch of the Economy Reporters Association, Ferit Kora, Vice Chairman of the Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters’ Association (EMKOÜİB), said they have launched a global marketing drive for the association’s sub-sectors for 2026, namely furniture, paper and non-wood forest products.
Sharing that they are planning national participation at international fairs, sectoral trade delegations and buyer delegations every month, Kora said: “In 2026, we will organize national participation at three fairs. We will have sectoral trade delegations, design competitions and buyer delegations under our UR-GE projects, along with workshops and panels. Paper & Tissue Show Abu Dhabi is the largest fair in the Middle East. Due to the war, it has been postponed to June 3–5, 2026. We hope the war ends as soon as possible and that trade continues from where it left off. For the HD Expo Las Vegas fair on May 5–7, 2026, we will organize a Türkiye National Participation and create a basis for our furniture exporters to increase their exports to the US. The third national participation fair we will hold this year will be Paper & Tissue Show London, which will take place in London on November 11–12, 2026. This year, we will organize the Papyrus Packaging Design Competition for the first time. In addition, we will launch the Aegean Paper UR-GE Project to boost the competitiveness of our companies operating in the paper and packaging sector in international markets.”
Joining the meeting of the Aegean Furniture, Paper and Forest Products Exporters’ Association with the İzmir economic press were EMKOÜİB Board Member Şeyma Başterzi, Furniture Working Committee Chairman Müjdat Kemer and Aegean Exporters’ Associations Deputy Secretary General Kemal Coşkun.
